1. Veskansan reitit - Veskansa routes

Municipalities of Juva, Mikkeli, Puumala, Ristiina, Sulkava
The tour lengths are ca. 100 km and it takes 5-6 days to canoe each of the routes.

The Veskansa routes are a mixture of large, open waters, strings of lakes, broad and narrow sounds and above all islands.  The Hurissalo tour connects lakes Yövesi, Luonteri and Lietvesi. The Lietvesi tour takes the paddler from the village of Puumala to the south to the sounds between the islands Luukkolansaari, Liehtalansaari, Niinisaari and Liimattalansaari and further to the open waters of lake Lietvesi. The third route is known as the wilderness route of lake Saimaa. It takes the paddler to lake Katosselkä which is known as a nature reserve and as a habitat of Saimaa Ringed Seal and then it goes further through the historic canals of Kukonharja and Käyhkää to the village of Puumala.
