The Heinävesi Route was one of the first destinations mentioned in Finnish travelling literature that was especially recommended for paddlers and fishing enthusiasts over one hundred years ago. Today this historic waterway with it's narrow channels, beautiful lakes and old canals has been designated as one of the National heritage landscape areas in Finland. A kayak or canoe trip along the Heinävesi Route means striking scenery, spectacular fishing, and genuine countryside hospitality.
